F3 Innovate
Overview
F3 Innovate connects workforce development, technology commercialization, and investment to strengthen agriculture and rural economies. Based in California's Central Valley, it works with industry, government, and research partners to move agricultural innovations toward field validation and adoption. Its Talent Development programs connect students and educators with agricultural technology, while the Commercialization Engine supports technical and business development. The Catalyst Fund is another current program area; eligibility, intake, and support are determined by each program.
What they do
Technology commercialization
Connects growers and agtech companies through grower challenge workshops, an R&D library, market-entry preparation, and technology transfer support, helping field-ready technologies move toward adoption on farms.
Agtech validation funding
Awards competitive grants with mentorship and pilot coordination to teams field-testing agricultural technologies with Central Valley growers, and provides outcome-based working capital for putting proven technologies into use at scale.
Agricultural AI and data
Provides regional supercomputing and shared Central Valley agricultural datasets for startups and researchers, and runs AI sprints in which student, researcher, and independent teams tackle problems defined by growers.
Student talent development
Introduces middle school, high school, and community college students to agtech through AI training and funded science projects, and places undergraduate and graduate students in paid internships with Central Valley organizations.
