A statewide alliance, rooted in California’s regions.

The California AgTech Alliance is a statewide network of universities, colleges, public agencies, industry groups, and community organizations working together so that agricultural innovation and opportunity reach every region of California.

Our Purpose

Making expertise and opportunity
easier to find.

California’s agricultural strengths span farms, research institutions, businesses, classrooms, and communities. The Alliance helps connect that expertise, making it easier for an entrepreneur to find a testing partner, a worker to discover training, or an educator to connect with an employer.

Our mission is to unite California’s agricultural regions through shared platforms, targeted investment, and collaboration that expand equitable access to good-paying jobs, entrepreneurial opportunity, and climate-smart innovation.

Planned Outcomes

What we’re
working toward.

Our vision is a California that leads in agricultural and food innovation, with connected regions, technologies accessible to every farmer, and pathways to stable, well-paying careers for every worker.

These are the outcomes we aim to achieve.

01Greater visibility for California AgTech

Broader recognition of California’s agricultural technology expertise and opportunities among entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders.

02Stronger skills and career pathways

More students, farmworkers, and career changers gaining practical skills, industry credentials, and pathways into agricultural technology careers.

03More innovations in the market and field

More startups progressing through testing and demonstration toward commercial readiness, customer adoption, and business growth.

04More investment and job opportunities

More private capital supporting agricultural technology companies and their growth, creating opportunities for skilled workers.

05Stronger connections across regions

More collaboration among farmers, educators, businesses, and community organizations, with easier access to expertise, programs, and resources.

How We Work

Talent, innovation,
and the connections between them.

Workforce development builds the talent needed to put new technologies into practice. Commercialization advances innovations that create opportunities for skilled workers. The Network connects both with the partners, expertise, and resources that help them progress.
