Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District
Overview
Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District works with landowners, agricultural producers, Tribes, and public agencies on land stewardship and watershed health. Its programs address soil health, water resources, forest restoration, and prescribed fire. Farmers can ask about Healthy Soils technical assistance, while conservation and community partners can discuss monitoring, restoration, and collaborative projects. Based in Yreka, the district serves central Siskiyou County and undertakes project work across the county. Assistance depends on location, program requirements, and available resources.
What they do
Soil health assistance
Provides technical assistance to Siskiyou County farmers and ranchers in a state-funded soil health grant program, from grant applications through the design and implementation of soil health practices.

Technical consulting
District staff consult for producers, landowners, and agencies on agricultural management and business, forestry, geology, grant writing, project development, environmental review, and water monitoring.
