UC ANR Informatics and GIS (IGIS)
Overview
UC ANR's Informatics and GIS program, known as IGIS, is UC ANR's hub for mapping, spatial data, and drone technology, offering project support and training. Its staff provide custom maps, GIS and spatial analysis, remote sensing, web mapping, mobile apps, GPS support, and drone imaging for UC ANR research and extension programs. IGIS teaches geospatial and drone skills through workshops, webinars, office hours, and DroneCamp, a training conference for adults who work with drones. As the Northern California hub for the statewide Drones Uplifting California Communities (DUCC) program, it helps high-school and community-college educators prepare to teach drone pilot skills. Project support goes mainly to UC ANR programs and affiliates, depends on staff capacity, and is billed at approved recharge rates.
