Overview

What they do
Agricultural and professional education
Offers an undergraduate major in agricultural and environmental technology, plus workshops, certificates, and courses for professionals in agtech, viticulture, winemaking, brewing, nut and tree fruit production, and wine business.
Farmworker safety and technology training
Trains farmworkers, crew leaders, and employers in English and Spanish on heat illness, wildfire smoke, and injury prevention, and is developing training for work with autonomous tractors, collaborative robots, and agrivoltaics.
Entrepreneurship and commercialization
Supports entrepreneurs through academies, a business competition with a food and agriculture sector, customer-discovery training with agtech cohorts, and startup formation help for ventures built on university research.
Research and industry partnerships
Works with industry on sponsored research, faculty partnerships, student internships, employee education, and access to specialized research facilities in agriculture, food systems, and emerging technologies.
